Lancaster Kennel Club Holds Annual Match Dog Show
The Lancaster Kennel Club, an American Kennel Club affiliate, will be holding its annual Match Dog Show on Sunday, August 31, 2014. The event will be held in Landisville in Lancaster County. The dog show will begin at 10 am with the junior showmanship competition. Conformation, obedience and rally shows will follow. The events are estimated to end at approximately 4 pm.
A match show is a practice dog show that allows puppies often to have their first experience around other dogs, people and events. It is also the final practice for dogs going into the official pointed show ring.
A match dog show is also a much more relaxed atmosphere than a Regular Point Show. As such, it is a great place for attendees to meet breeders and learn about different breeds. It is a really good idea to see and meet different dog breeds for anyone thinking of getting a puppy, but unsure of what breed to get.
