There are numerous social avenues geared specifically for singles to meet and hang out. Many singles utilize dating sites or try to meet other singles in local areas, such as coffee shops. Now there is a new avenue- dog training classes!

Dog Training Class- A New Way to Meet Other Singles

Meet Claire Johnson and Mark Gaffey with their two Labrador Retrievers. Both were attending a two week guide dog training class where they met. As the class continued, their pups became best buddies. Claire and Mark knew they had to keep meeting for dog dates, which eventually led to their own romance and marriage.

From BBC: “Everyone used to joke about how Mark’s dog Rodd and my dog Venice were meant to be together,” Claire said. After they were paired with the dogs, Ms Johnson and Mr Gaffey continued to meet for play dates because they “couldn’t bear” to split them up after the dog training classes were over.

The pair guided their owners through the marriage service in Barlaston, Stoke-on-Trent, on Saturday and even acted as ring-bearers. Ms Johnson said she had “no doubt” the dogs had brought the couple together.
